Solomons Island – 2011 Calendar of Events
March 5 (and the 1st Saturday of every month thru Dec. 3rd)- Maker's Market at Annmarie Gardens - Farmer's market with handmade, homemade and home grown products including arts & crafts, produce, plants & flowers, skin care products, baked goods, teas, gifts and more.
May 7 – SPRING COVE MARINA OPEN HOUSE (11:00 to 2:00). Please join us for good food, drink and fun! The Coast Guard Aux will also be conducting Courtesy Safety Examinations.
May 12 - 14 – Solomons Paint the Town: Plein Air Art Faire – A weekend of art and entertainment throughout town and at Annmarie Gardens.
May 14 - 11th Annual taste of Solomons (11:00 to 3:00) - Visit participating restaurants for tempting samples from their menus, including special cocktails (fee).
May 28 - Larry the Cable Guy - Waterside Concert Series at the Calvert Marine Museum.
June 11 - NATIONAL MARINA DAY (11:00 to 3:00) - celebrated at Spring Cove Marina!
June 17 – Season Opener of The River Concert Series at St. Mary’s College – Free concerts on the lawn featuring the Chesapeake Orchestra and special guests, with additional concerts on Fridays (June 24th, July 1st , July 8th, July 15th, July 22th and July 29th ).
June 18 - Tobacco Trail Antique and Classic Car Meet (10:00 to 2:00) at Annmarie Garden - showcasing 100+ antique and classic cars.
June 18 – Willie Nelson Country Throwdown – 8 hour musical festival featuring 13 bands (including Willie Nelson, Jamey Johnson, Randy Houser & Lee Brice) at the Blue Crab's Regency Furniture Stadium in Waldorf (fee); Proceeds benefit the Calvert Marine Museum.
July 4 - FIREWORKS IN SOLOMONS – Launched from a barge in the Patuxent River off the Boardwalk! Don’t miss this wonderful show!
July 3 – Independence Day Concert - On the lawn at Sotterley Plantation (1:00 to 4:00) – Food and Drinks available (fee).
July 9 - Sharkfest at the Calvert Marine Museum - Activities for the whole family, free with Museum Admission.
July 17-19 – 19th Annual Screwpile Lighthouse Challenge – CBYRA Sailing Regatta in Solomons.
Sept. 17-18 – Artsfest at Annmarie Garden – Outdoor Art Show and Festival featuring music, entertainment, food and fine brews.
Sept.23-25 - Solomons Offshore Grand-Prix - Power boat racing in the Patuxent River off the Boardwalk!
Oct. 1-2 – Riverside Winefest at Sotterley Plantation (noon to 6:00) – Experience the best of Maryland Wineries with wine-tasting, fine foods, live music and artisans (fee).
Oct. 8-9 – Patuxent River Appreciation Days – at the Calvert Marine Museum. Free boat rides, music, and activities for the whole family.
October 22 – Halloween in the Garden at Annmarie Garden (11:00 to 4:00) – “trick or treating” and free “spooky” art activities for kids.
December 2 – 3 – Solomons Christmas Walk - Stroll Solomons' candlelit streets, browse the unique shops and enjoy art, music, entertainment and the Lighted Boat Parade.
December 2 – Jan. 1, 2012 – Garden in Lights – Annmarie Garden’s delightful, walk-through Light Show. Also includes an Ornament Sale, holiday shopping, music and entertainment.
